Snowhotel Kirkenes is one of the most exciting places to work in Northern Norway. The snow hotel is nestled between the mountains and the Barents Sea. A very special place to meet guests from all over the world. In addition to the unique experience of staying overnight in the snow hotel or enjoying the winter in our cozy rooms, we offer other exciting activities.

Husky Safari has become a well-known arctic adventure since we started up with dogsled tours 10 years ago. The professional mindset, the deep care for our dogs, the passionate dog mushers, and most of all, our 180 strong and beautiful Alaskan huskies, have made us one of the most popular and reputable husky ventures north of the Arctic Circle.

About you

You are good at service and are motivated by the fact that guests have a good experience. You like working with people and you’re outgoing and sociable. You have control over “everything”, work structured and are good at having a lot of balls in the air. You have a problem-solving attitude and always keep your cool under pressure. You are happy, willing and able to take charge and initiative when the unexpected happens and handle every challenge in a swift and expeditious manner with a reassuring smile on your face.

If you have worked in a kennel before and are comfortable driving a sled dog team and have some experience with guiding that’s an advantage.

Skills & Requirements

  • You are fluent in the German language (C2 level required) 
  • You respect and understand dogs
  • You should love to work both with animals and humans and you shouldn’t be shy of guiding and talking with our guests
  • Good physical condition and being able of lifting weights up to 20 kg
  • You should love the cold because temperatures can drop down to -30 C and we have to take care of our dogs and guests in all kinds of weather
  • Language skills: English, any additional language skills are also highly welcome – especially German
  • European driving license class B
  • A good sense of humor to survive the long and dark polar night
  • A “yes-I-can-do-it”-attitude
